A great way to create new habits and routines is to do a daily habit tracker! If there’s anything I want to take in to the new year, it’s that small, incremental change matters. For me, there are goals I want to work toward that feel huge, like getting in the best shape of my life or having a super clean house every day. But those feel unachievable, right?
With a daily habit tracker, you can break down each huge goal in to small steps to work toward every day. For example, 15 minute clean up daily feels a whole lot more achievable than deep cleaning the entire house. Small habits = big change over time. This year I’ve decided to track caffeine/water/alcohol and sleep quality as well. It can be customized to fit your lifestyle!

Look, I’m not trying to come at you with a whole new year, new you let-me-pretend-like-I’m-a-life-coach mentality. I’m far from that. I’m a busy mom, like most of you, and I look at this as a form of self-care.
What Is A Habit Tracker?
A habit tracker has slots to write in habits you want to have in your life and 31-day slots to keep track of your progress. At the bottom of this post is a printable version but I’ve also seen DIY versions, Bullet Journal versions, and there are apps if you prefer digital. For me, there is something about getting these goals down on paper and buying myself pretty pens to fill in the boxes.
In 2018 I started the year with this very habit tracker with the goal of making my bed every day. Over the course of that year, it became a habit that continues to this day (with the grace of the year we all stayed home, 2020 😉 ).
Favorite Tracker Tools
- Micron 02 pens: These come in a variety of sizes but 02 is my favorite.
- Dual Tip Pens: These come in 24 colors and I love the brush tip/fine point combo.
- Clipboard: Helpful to hang or put in a place where it won’t get overlooked and you’ll be reminded to do it daily.
