Mom Win of the Week:
This is going to make me sound like the biggest suburbia cliche but… setting up a carpool to and sometimes from school. I’ve been having a really hard time finding my footing since school started. I have been feeling like an unpaid, under-appreciated taxi driver and this helps so much.
Mom Fail of the Week:
I’ve been struggling with my lack of alone time lately. The other day was a particularly stressful day and Sully is on the verge of a fever flare and is on me like a barnacle all. Day. Long. I lost my cool and yelled CAN EVERYONE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE FOR TWO SECONDS. Jokes on me though because Harrison counted to two and then continued making his fart jokes. 😑 All of that to say, it’s been a long week and I need to up the self care so I can be my best self for my family.
Currently…
Listening to:
I just finished the podcast Escaping NXIVM. It’s about the cult that the actress from Smallville is a part of and was just arrested for. That is only the tip of the iceberg, it is CRAZY. Have you listened? I need more people to talk to about it!
Watching:
Tyler and I decided we needed to watch some scary stuff in honor of it being October. We’ve been watching The Purge and this season of American Horror Story. They are crazy. I’m only having nightmares, like, every other night.
Reading:
My voter handbook like MAD. If you’re registered to vote by mail like me, make sure you send it in early! Or, drop it at your local polling place. If you’re a California voter, this website is awesome to help you understand the propositions. THIS IS IMPORTANT, PEOPLE. ::steps off soapbox::
Wearing:
These OG Vans. So nostalgic, so comfy. Sully and I got matching ones and I’m going to enjoy matching him for as long as he thinks it’s cool. True Crime mug is BGD.
Looking forward to:
I’m going to my first live podcast show next Friday– My Favorite Murder Live and I’m so damn excited. I’ve listened since close to the beginning and am huge Karen and Georgia fans. True crime, comedy and feminism–if those things make you happy, you should be listening too.
Planning:
We have lofty goals to hit 8 pumpkin patches in 2018. The photo at the top of this post is from Patch #3. Click here to read about our 7 patches in 2017. I’m starting to get nervous though because we still have 4 to go… and 12 days left to do it. It’s ok, we like a challenge.
Have a great weekend, friends!
