Hey there, friends! Happy December!! We’ve been kind of all over the place with posts lately. I feel like I’ve been trying to find a groove ever since Halloween and just can’t find my footing. I have a feeling it will be like that until the end of the year, so bare with us as we try to get back on track, starting with this round of favorites!
Mom Win of the Week:
It rained the entire day last Sunday and in a last ditch effort to get out of the house, we went to Bass Pro Shop. Our kids love to look at the fish and their little Santa Village was up. Isla has been very hesitant to see Santa, so I didn’t think she’d go through with it, but much to my surprise, she waltzed right up to him. Nolan, surprisingly, wasn’t too into it and looked very worried the whole time, but didn’t actually cry. And, bonus, Isla got to shoot a “bone in arrow” while we were there, which is what she asked Santa for. Where does she come up with this stuff?
Mom Fail of the Week:
I feel like I’ve really been phoning it in lately. I realized recently I never actually play with my kids, so I’m making more of an effort to get down on the floor and actually play. I’ll be honest though, I think it’s sooo booorrrringgggg. Then someone comes and snatches someone else’s toy and I’m just referring, but I know they like it so I’m trying to not think about how I should be doing the dishes/laundry/dinner prep instead and having fun.
Celebrating:
We’ve throwing a wine exchange party (Think ornament exchange, but with wine!!) this weekend and I’m so excited! Stay tuned for approximately a billion photos.
Listening to:
I actually listened to Dirty John after hearing everyone talk about it. I just thought it was okay. I’m always amazed at home trusting and blind people can be. Have you listened? What did you think?
Loving:
Poppy & Oak sent us a Repose Box to try out. Meghan, the super awesome boss lady and mama behind this small shop, curates boxes made entirely of goods made in Northern California. Each one is so thoughtfully put together and has the cutest things. We love us a small shop, especially ones run by moms, so definitely go check out Poppy & Oak if you’re looking for a really awesome gift- the packaging alone makes it feel extra special! There are several different kinds, so you could find just the right one for that hard to buy for person. Or for yourself to enjoy!
We recommend the Repose Box came with a face mask, tea, the most amazing smelling candle, a bath soak, an air plant, a little notebook and sage all in a wooden crate. I’ve never saged my house, but I’m willing to try it to rid my house of whatever curse keeps my kids from sleeping!
What are your plans for the weekend? If you’re up for a little DIY, check out Brittany’s faux fur tree skirt or my glitter lights!
