Game Day Appetizer: Cream Cheese Bean Dip

The Super Bowl, aka the best excuse to make delicious appetizers and eat all day, is just around the corner! Whether you’re going to a big party or just having a small gathering at home this cream cheese bean dip will be a hit.

I’m not usually a fan of warm dips, but this one is an exception. Anything with cheese is usually a win with me. I’ve served it at several parties and get togethers, including our Wine Exchange Party, and it was a hit.

And, bonus, it’s super easy to make! Mix everything together, sprinkle with some cheese and pop it in the oven. Throw some tortilla chips out and let everyone dig in.


Game Day Appetizer: Cream Cheese Bean Dip

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 cup Mexican shredded cheese
  • Optional- 1/2 cup of your favorite salsa


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix beans, cream cheese and sour cream together. Use an immersion blender if desired to cream mixture together.
  3. Once combined, add taco seasoning and salsa if you wish.
  4. Pour half in an 8x8 baking dish. Sprinkle half the cheese on top, then add the remaining bean mixture and top with additional cheese.
  5. Bake 30 minutes. Let cool and serve with tortilla chips.

Is anyone else super excited to see Justin Timberlake perform at half time? That, and the commercials, are what I’ll be watching for. I don’t mind watching football, but it’s been so long since we’ve had time to devote to watching football every weekend that I’m just out of the loop. What team will you be rooting for?
