We thought it would be fun to introduce ourselves, interview style. Here is my interview with Brittany:
If your experience of motherhood was a song, what would it be?
Welcome to The Jungle. Self explanatory.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh my god, this is so hard. Can I pick a genre? Mexican food, all day every day. Pizza and cheeseburgers as a close second.
What is your current biggest motherhood challenge?
Oh, I’m such a hot mess. Figuring out the work at home mom schedule with the boys’ new summer schedule without murdering anyone. Don’t write that. Orrrr, the 3 year old in my bed. It’s a tie.
When did you first feel like a mother?
When I went back to work after having Harrison and I had to pump at work. Then figuring out how to handle the work life and home life–kind of an ongoing battle.
If a genie gave you one wish, but it had to pertain to your life as a mom, what would you wish for?
I would wish to never hear, “Hey, Mom! Watch this!” again.
What’s the hardest thing about marriage after kids?
Finding a time to have a full conversation. And a date night. Do you know how much babysitters cost?
How did you start Brittany Garner Design (BGD)?
I was designing invitations for my own wedding, then I did it for a friend. Then I started my Etsy shop as a wedding stationary design shop. I did that part time, until I made my first mug in 2013. Then in 2014 we moved and I started BGD full time. Since then it’s grown from custom work to what it is today.
If you had to describe me (Heather) in three words/phrases, what would they be?
- Sarcastic AF
- The Type A balance to my Type B personality
- If I had to choose a sister wife, it would be you.
