We thought it would be fun to introduce ourselves, interview style. Here is my interview with Heather:
If your experience of motherhood was a song, what would it be?
The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Don’t push me ’cause I’m close to the eeeedge.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mac and cheese. Different flavors every day though. Throw some bacon in, some broccoli if I’m feeling healthy, ya know.
What is your current biggest motherhood challenge?
Keeping Nolan from killing himself. And deciding what’s best for Isla versus what people tell me is best for Isla.
When did you first feel like a mother?
On my 28th birthday, Isla was three months old and I could never put her down because she would cry so I alway have her in the carrier. She had just fallen asleep for her morning nap after a shitty night of sleep. And I had to take a shit. I did what any sleep deprived mother would do and took a dump with her strapped to my chest. Don’t act like you haven’t done that. I sat there thinking, “This is 28. Wait, NOPE. This is motherhood.”
If a genie gave you one wish, but it had to pertain to your life as a mom, what would you wish for?
Sleep through the night. Every night. Forever.
What’s the hardest thing about marriage after kids?
Before kids, we did everything together and we were always on the same page. But now, we’re in completely different books and there’s no time to get on the same page. It’s like constantly treading water until they graduate I guess.
If you had to describe me (Brittany) in three words/phrases, what would they be?
- You’re a stereotypical creative
- A pop culture aficionado
- Stronger than you think (STAHHHHP IT)
