We selfishly based these gift guides on our own kids, which is why I’m writing the 6 Year Old Boy Gift Ideas post and Heather handled the girl version. Obviously, there are no gender assignments to toys. There are a ton of things on my list a girl would love and vice versa.
I’ve definitely felt guilt because Sullivan basically gets all of Harrison’s hand me downs. I’ve tried my best to allow for the differences in their personalities even though it’s often easier to lump them together; they are very different kids. I’ve also been trying to make a conscious effort to allow for “new” things for Sullivan, not just items that used to be Harrison’s.
6 Year Old Gift Ideas
For The Active Kid
We have a tiny backyard but we definitely needed some sort of energy-outlet for the boys out there. This trampoline fits perfectly.
The top thing on his list is a laser tag set. This one comes with four guns and four vests, a great deal!
These masks are a great deal for the kids who will be back in school after the holidays.
Who doesn’t love a stomp rocket?
For The Book Lover
We love Oliver Jeffers so What We’ll Build will fit in nicely on Sullivan’s bookshelf.
National Geographic Kids has great “My First” books on just about every subject. This Reptile one will be a hit.
For The Aspiring Chef
For The Game Lover
Sullivan still loves his Amazon Fire. It’s a great platform to introduce kids to Minecraft.
A Mario and Lego crossover is this kid’s dream come true. And there are a bunch of sets!
If you’re looking for a unique gift, we recently got the boys drawn as Minecraft characters and they turned out SO cute. We plan to frame it for their room. This is the exact listing we purchased and the seller was quick and responsive. Highly recommend.
