We made it through another week, people! Here’s what’s been going on in my world this week.
Mom Win of the Week:
We’re preparing for Isla’s first IEP next week and I’m feeling really good about it. I feel like all the teachers, support staff and district people are all in agreement about what’s best for her, the program we toured seems like it’s exactly what she needs and I feel like I’m finally finding the best ways to describe what we experience, what we struggle with and what we need to support her.
Mom Fail of the Week:
Dinner this week has been: mac and cheese, dino nuggets, mac and cheese, dino nuggets, repeat X infinty. I just haven’t been up for the food battle lately. That and it’s really hard to have dinner ready at 5pm on the dot when the blue wigs like to eat.
Watching:
I finally finished Big Little Lies on HBO. Now I’m dying to read the book now!
Listening:
You guys. If you like Housewives, nay, if you like comedy, you NEED to be listening to the Bitch Sesh podcast. It is literally laugh out loud funny, so if you like awkwardly laughing audibly on the treadmill at the gym to yourself, then this is the podcast for you.
Training:
Half marathon training continues. At the time this post goes live Brittany and I will be out running 7 miles/trying not to die. Somehow I convinced her to do a long run with me, but I can’t convince her to register for the race. Training is getting harder because I need longer miles, but the kids (Read: Nolan.) are antsy after about 2 miles. The only thing worse than running is running while listening to whining and screaming.
Something I’m trying:
Meal planning! I used to be really good about this and I’m trying to get back on the wagon, but I’m in such a dinner rut! I’d love some dinner suggestions! I’ve got a few ideas together on our Pinterest board, but I’m always looking for more!
Planning:
Isla’s third birthday! This is the first year she gets the whole party concept and that she’s turning a year older. We’re going to be able to have her party on her actual birthday and I’m just so excited to see her enjoy it. I’m not going to lie, I do most of the party stuff because I think it’s fun, but it’s definitely going to be more exciting this year to do it all for a kid that can actually appreciate it! Stay tuned because you know a photo dump is coming!
