This Minecraft birthday party is brought to you by Code Ninjas, Round Table Pizza, Unique Industries, and Cotton’s Cake Creations in exchange for a blog post and my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.
This Minecraft birthday party was a joy to put together for my oldest! Birthday parties are getting infinitely more fun as my kids get older. Not only do they “get it” but they have ideas and you can feel the literal joy as they celebrate with you.
Harrison is getting older and while I don’t love a character-y party, I do love a challenge. I challenged myself to turn the requested Minecraft theme into something that wasn’t a complete assault on the eyeballs. I think we succeeded.
As always, my party philosophy is to outsource all the things that I deem stressful. So, for me, that’s food and entertainment. We were happy to partner with brands who not only made my job easier but really made the party super fun.
The Venue: Code Ninjas
Code Ninjas was the only logical choice for a Minecraft themed birthday party. Our ongoing partnership with them included this event and I’m so thrilled that it worked out that way.
When the partiers arrived, we ate and then it was time to play some Minecraft! The Senseis were able to set everyone up on the same server so they could build and mine together. There was even a chat feature that they found particularly hilarious. For some reason, a bunch of 8 year olds think it’s pretty funny to chat with a person sitting right next to you. Ha!

Some kids weren’t the biggest Minecraft fans so Code Ninjas had other things for them to do around the Dojo as well including Kamigami Robots and more!
If you’re looking for a great place for a birthday party to entertain elementary-aged kids, Code Ninjas is a great option. Let me know if you have any questions about our experience in the comments below!
The Food: Round Table Pizza
Enjoying my kids’ parties is at the top of my to do list whenever I start planning. What’s at the top of my Stress List for a party? 100% it’s cooking for a crowd. Enter: Round Table Pizza to the rescue! Pizza is, hands down, Harrison’s favorite food (so much so that it was the theme of his 5th birthday). So, this was a match made in heaven.
Working with RTP was a breeze. They had the order ready at the exact time we requested, everything was packaged beautifully and the food was perfect. In case you have been living under a rock, RTP has been rebranded from the RTP of our childhood. Their new brand identity is not only more fun and approachable but still stays true to the company that was founded over 60 years ago.
We all know the cheese and pepperoni were for the kids but I can never pass up a Maui Zaui for myself. We also had wings, breadsticks, and salad. Have you ever tasted a RTP breadstick? Like literal heaven in your mouth.
The Dessert & Favors: Cotton’s Cake Creations
As a small business owner myself, it’s so important to me to always include a local creative entrepreneur in every event we do. I am beyond thrilled that I met Debra, the owner of Cotton’s Cake Creations in Rancho Cordova. Debra is incredibly talented (seriously, look at her Instagram), and she was so accommodating.
Debra took the theme and my one note of “nothing to character-y”, did her research, and nailed it. She did cupcakes that were Minecraft inspired and Cake-sickles that were vacuum-sealed to be used as favors.
If you’d like to book Debra for your next event, email her at cottonscake {at} comcast.net. You won’t be disappointed!
The Decor: Unique Industries
As much as I say I don’t want to plan a party that is character-saturated, there’s only so much one can do with a Minecraft Party. And that’s fine! I actually think the 8-bit nature of Minecraft can be cute, and I was super happy with our finished product!
Truth be told, it doesn’t matter what I like. This was about what Harrison likes and his party and trust me… he had opinions. He actually helped me with the placement of each item on the tables and I loved that he wanted to help.
The focal point of the party was this long table with a place setting for each partier. It included a mask, plate, napkins, stickers, and cup. Most Minecraft themed and a few neutrals to balance it out.

What a fabulous looking party you arranged! So much fun g Thor the kids to be engaged in different activities.
I was completely honored that I was contacted and it was such a pleasure working with you! I loved that you gave complete freedom on design other than it being Minecraft inspired.
Thank you again for such a wonderful opportunity!
