Do you have a big Mom Bag? I tried so hard to go down to a small purse after we were out of the diaper bag phase but it just didn’t work. In some ways, big kids require more than what I carried when they were babies. I get stressed if there’s a situation that arises that I didn’t plan for. Being prepared is definitely the antidote to my anxiety. Which is why I’m definitely a believer in a big, stocked Mom Bag. Below are my must-haves to combat any disaster:
In case of a sick kid
Use as directed
I have been a mom for nearly eight years and no matter how many times my kids get sick, it always makes me feel like the world is crashing down around me. Maybe that’s dramatic. What I really mean is it really doesn’t ever get easier, but having things like Mucinex® Junior Cough and Congestion Caplets on hand help.

Mucinex® Junior Cough and Congestion Caplets are great to toss into your Mom bag. The other day, after Harrison’s soccer game, he was coughing and I could tell he was getting stuffy. I was able to pull these out of my bag, and it was easy for him to swallow because of their junior size that’s designed specifically for kids. They’re also more convenient for mom! Definitely stocking up on these to get us through cold and flu season!

In case of boredom
Having a “busy” activity in my Mom Bag always comes in handy when we’re waiting in the checkout line at a store or when we’re in the car and the kids are “sooooo bored.” My favorite are wax sticks, small sticker book, or a book of Mad Libs. It buys a little peace and quiet time for me, too!
In case of networking
You know I always have our Okayest Moms business cards in a cute carrying case. You never know when you might have a networking opportunity running errands or at the park!

In case of personal hygiene
My favorite chapstick, lipstick, and breath fresheners are a must. I practically live in my car running between school pickups, dropoffs, errands, and kid’s activities so these are a must have.
In case someone is hangry
Snacks, snacks, and more snacks. Mostly for the kids but some for myself as well! I can’t even tell you how many times I was saved from being hangry after reaching to the bottom of my Mom Bag and finding a granola bar.
What do you have in your Mom Bag?

I don’t have any small children anymore, they have all become adults, so I don’t think I need a Mom bag for them. Maybe one for myself though.

Love the idea. I’m a mother of two beautiful little girls. I’ve always carried a separate bag with books and goodies. It’s a must have for mommys and daddys.

Single and without a child you can walk with high heels and small wallets, with children low shoes and large wallets are necessary, but always regal
