Motherhood and mental health is a topic we’ve discussed frequently here, and we knew it was one we wanted to include in the Okayest Moms Summer Series. Andrea, a counselor and mental health expert, has a degree Child and Family Development from Arizona State and has a masters in counseling. She founded Bloom Healing, which provides individual and group counseling specializing in addiction, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, trauma, and childhood behavior. She is also a mother of three. Andrea lead us on a conversation about some of the ways mothers specifically struggle when it comes to mental health. She also provided some practical, in the moment techniques to apply when you feel the shift in your mental health. We loved this part of the conversation about what Andrea calls the “committee in your head.”
