WHO WE TALKED TO
In this webinar from the Okayest Moms Summer Series, we talked to Olivia Howell. Olivia Howell is the founder of Howell Media House, a social media and influencer management company based on Long Island. After teaching middle school for 10 years and having her first son, Olivia left teaching to found her own business helping local businesses with their social media. 6 years later (and one more son), Olivia now works globally with a variety of brands, television shows, celebrities, authors, and influencers. Olivia works from home with her two small sons and is excited to share what she’s learned about raising a business and babies at the same time.
WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT
In this session we touched on many topics including:
- Why being a work at home mom is different than a working mom or stay at home mom
- The importance of paying for child care
- Managing guilt
- Creating boundaries between work and family
- Thoughts on balance
- Thoughts on screen time
THINGS WE MENTIONED
We talked a lot about screen time and the guilt we are told we should feel. Olivia believes in screen time (as do we), but balancing it with other activities. Apps she (and her kids love) include My Town, PBS Kids, Sago Mini and Toca Boca. Incidentally, these are all of our favorites too!
