When we were planning our girls’ weekend to Sonoma County to wine taste, we were excited about the chance to wear whatever we wanted. No kids to wrangle meant dresses, white pants, dangly jewelry and heels were all on the table! So here is an overview of what we wore to give you some ideas of what to pack.
Bayabelle Boutique, a local shop, was kind enough to offer us a few pieces for our trip. If you are local to the Sacramento area, you have to go in and check them out. They have the cutest store front and you will have the best time browsing through all of the adorable merchandise! Dawn, the owner, is the sweetest and has the best taste! If you’re not local, don’t worry- they’re online too!!
The weather in Sonoma County is pretty temperate. Turns out that perfect grape growing climate is just perfect all around! It can get warm in the afternoon sun, but there is usually a cool breeze since the ocean isn’t far away. Light layers will work best, although the weekend we were there we didn’t need them.
Sonoma County is definitely more laid back than it’s neighbor Napa Valley. Jeans and a tee are totally fine, and that’s what we wore on the drive in on Friday. It worked for the casual eatery, Gott’s, and in the relaxed atmosphere of Gunlach Bundschu.

Of course, dressing up a little is just fine too! We loved these floral dresses that we wore! Not only were they super soft and comfy, but the florals were a perfect compliment to the surroundings.
Brittany paired her gorgeous wrap dress with these Vince Camuto booties (similar here in black). She was worried about falling or being uncomfortable at the end of the day, but they were perfect! Her clutch is from Studio DIY and is no longer available (but a Google search may or may not get you a few Poshmark listings!).
Guys, the dress I wore had pockets! And you know I told anyone who even looked moderately interested. I went with flats because at about 5’9″, I already tower over everyone. These flats are quickly becoming my favorites. These sunglasses (similar here) and crossbody finished off my look.
This was outside the entrance of Comstock Winery. How gorgeous is that?!
I’m a terrible packer and always bring way too many clothes and at least two options. You just never know what you might feel like the day of! Here are a few other options we loved for a kid free day of wine tasting in Sonoma County! Of course, these could work for a date night or girls night too!

I wore this romper on Mother’s Day when we went to a local winery and it would be another great option! I paired it with the same flats from above and this fedora. It’s super well made and a great price!
Our other must have for our trip, other than fabulous wine, was a pool and spa at the place we stayed. We lucked out with the amenities at our timeshare VRBO location!
Brittany and I ended up with the same swimsuit this year, so it’s safe to say we are officially morphing into the same person. This suit is super flattering and comes in long for all of my fellow long waisted friends! This coverup is from Walmart of all places and I always get tons of compliments on it!
So there you have it! Everything we wore for a fun weekend away with the girls!
