Ok, I have a confession. You might know me as the Type A, organization obsessed member of our duo, but I hate to clean. I like things to look minimal, put together and organized. Clutter drives me absolutely insane, but dirt and grime don’t bother me one bit. My threshold for a dirty bathroom is shockingly low. I’m like half Danny Tanner, half Pig Pen.
Now that it’s officially spring, and I watched Marie Kondo’s Netflix special (3 months ago now, but whatever) I’m ready to dump everything in this house that doesn’t spark joy in me. I’ve slowly been working my way through each closet and drawer in the house, but I’ve hit a wall. Mostly because everything that’s left to do is going to either require real effort (sorting through old kid clothes) or going to involve cleaning (reorganizing the pantry and laundry room).
Since cleaning goes along with reorganizing and decluttering, I came up with a little game for some motivation. And I’m taking you all with me because misery loves company.
Meet the Spring Cleaning Bingo game! We’ve filled in a few standard spring cleaning items, but also thrown in a few gimmes. Some are things I consistently forget to do (vacuum couch cushions) and some are things I don’t even think about, but are long overdue (give the dog a bath. Whoops! Don’t call PETA on me!). We’ve also left a few spots blank for you to fill in whatever task you’ve been avoiding or had on your list for too long.
Spring Cleaning Bingo is our challenge to you for the month of April. To play along, follow these steps!
- Print out your game card. Just click the download button below! Fill in the blank squares with your own personalized things that need your attention.
- Set your intention for the month. Is April a busy month? Typically brutal for your allergies? Or maybe you think you’ll have more than normal free time? Blackout is the ultimate goal, but if you realistically will only have time to complete 5 in a row, make that your goal. Or, make up your own bingo rules and set out to complete 50% of the squares. Do you. The goal is to be realistic and accomplish even a small amount of reorganizing and cleaning, not to get so overwhelmed you do nothing at all.
- Share your spring cleaning adventures with us! Tag us on Instagram (@okayestmomsblog) in your stories or on a post every time you can cross a box off. We’ll also be sharing ours. I’m always motivated by competition, so seeing all of you will peer pressure me into doing it too.
- Enter our giveaway! At the end of the month, we will have a post where you can share your completed bingo card. Obviously, it will just be the honor system since we can’t come to everyone’s house and check on you, but it’s all in good fun. Keep an eye out for more details!
We’ll start April 1st, but if you’re feeling like an over achiever, go ahead and get started now!
Tell us what things you’re filling in on the game board! We’d love to hear what’s on your personal cleaning list!

I love this! I can totally relate to what you said about starting so strong and losing steam – especially when it comes to the tasks that take lots of work for any sort of gratification! (especially when they’re about to be messy again – am I right?)
This is a fun way to challenge yourself to GET – IT – DONE. Happy Spring to both of you! <3

Cleaning feels so futile with kids!
