Tequila Watermelon Refresco

If you’re on the hunt for a new, refreshing spring cocktail, I’ve got just the recipe for you! This Tequila Watermelon Refresco cocktail was dreamt up after purchasing watermelon juice on a whim from Costco and never-ending time at home to let that creativity fly.

One of my quarantine silver linings has definitely been being able to do things that I normally wouldn’t make time for. Time to make up fun drinks on a Sunday afternoon, time to have a water fight with my kids, time to read a book. Time to just be. It’s the little things that have kept me going through this crazy time in the world.

What You Need For This Cocktail

As I mentioned above, I found the watermelon juice at Costco. I love it because it’s 100% juice with no added anything and it tastes delicious. It’s just the freshness you need in a cocktail on a warm spring day.

For this fun spring drink, you’ll need your favorite tequila, lime (juiced), simple syrup, lime sparkling water, and watermelon wedge for garnish.

Mix the tequila, watermelon juice, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Rim glass with salt (if preferred) and fill with ice. Then pour shaker contents in glass and top with a splash of sparkling water. Enjoy!

If you want to get a little crazy, substitute the sparkling water for a splash of a lime or watermelon White Claw!
