A watermelon lime vodka slushie- could you get a more summer-y drink if you tried?! Watermelon has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. It’s pretty much what I live on all summer long and I don’t mean to brag, but I can eat a whole one by myself .**brushes off shoulder**
I’m always looking for a fun, festive drink to serve, and with summer in full swing and Fourth of July just around the corner, I mixed up a few of my favorite things and made this delicious watermelon lime vodka slushie. You probably can celebrate a holiday without a festive drink to match, but we both know that’s not very much fun.
Now, I looove me some watermelon, but I’ve always shied away from it in drinks. It doesn’t seem to translate well into liquid form, but I’ve found the secret. Freeze the watermelon! By using frozen watermelon, you eliminate the need for ice and you maintain the taste of the watermelon. And, bonus, it creates a slushie like texture which is perfect for a scorching summer afternoon.

On a hot day, this will start to melt fairly quickly. You can always throw it back in the blender with a few more frozen watermelon chunks to cool it off and give it that slushie texture again! Although, even without the blended texture it’s still quite delicious.
This watermelon lime vodka slushie is perfect to bring to your Fourth of July celebration, pool party or serve at an impromptu gathering. Light, refreshing and delicious and perfect for a hot summer day!
