Over the weekend, Brittany and I attended our first Women in Power Brunch in downtown Sacramento. This is the third brunch the Women of Sacramento and it was the biggest one yet!
We loved the opportunity to be around like-minded women, all there to support, encourage and uplift one another. This is something we champion as mothers (and amongst women in general), and we love any opportunity to partake in this message.
The best part of the Women in Power Brunch was hearing from the head of the charity the event was supporting. Women Empowerment is a local charity that runs a program for homeless women to build skills and confidence, find a job, create a healthy lifestyle and regain a home. We loved that this was a women run organization that helps women overcome a growing problem in our region.
The other speakers at the Women in Power Brunch were local business women who spoke about their legacies. Hearing about how each one approached that concept was interesting since it’s not something you think about daily!
Spending a morning swapping our usual yoga pants for dresses (or, a jumpsuit in Brittany’s case) was a fun change from our usual. PinkBlush was kind enough to send us our outfits for the event. I ended up with this bell sleeved dress (with pockets!!) and Brittany chose this jumpsuit. Their shipping is incredibly fast, their selection is huge and their customer service is excellent! Check out their full selection of dresses here! Adult conversation and a glass of champagne doesn’t hurt either!
Sacramento has so many exciting things going on lately. The downtown area has been revitalized with the new Golden One Arena, there are so many new business and restaurants opening and even though we live out in the ‘burbs, it’s nice to be able to be apart of these exciting things happening in the city as much as we can- especially ones celebrating women!
